Counselors provide emotional support and help clients generate the confidence necessary to make her decisions and plan her future. Clients may participate in both individual and group sessions to help evaluate their needs and explore their options.
Genesis may refer to other community resources for medical, legal, financial, and special counseling needs.

Genesis Centers
Genesis Centers are community outreach centers located in Pittsburgh (Bellevue) and Washington, PA that provide programs and services at no charge to women in need:
• Free pregnancy testing and counseling
• Classes including Lamaze, Newborn Care, Parenting, First Aid, and Infant and Child CPR
• Smoking Cessation Program
• Supplies such as maternity and baby clothing, formula, diapers, and baby food. Other baby supplies, equipment, and furniture are distributed as available to clients who participate in Genesis classes or other programming.
Genesis House
Genesis House provides a nurturing refuge for women experiencing an unplanned pregnancy. It was established in 1983 as a fully licensed maternity care facility and future planning center. Genesis House provides a self-help, homelike environment aimed at fostering a sense of responsibility and independence. Clients are admitted on a space-available basis following an interview and needs assessment.
Residential program applicants must be pregnant and in need of shelter. Upon being accepted into the program, clients enter an agreement to participate in classes and counseling that promote self-sufficiency, health, and good parenting skills. Adoption Agency
Genesis Adoption Agency, established in 1991, is a licensed adoption and foster care agency in the state of Pennsylvania.
Pregnant women considering placing their child in a loving adoptive home should call 412-766-2693 to schedule an appointment to discuss your options with the counselor.
